Prof. Witod Pedrycz

Biography: Witold Pedrycz (Life Fellow, IEEE) received the M.Sc., Ph.D., and D.Sci. degrees from the Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland. He is currently a Professor and a Canada Research Chair (CRC) in computational intelligence with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada. He is also with the Polish Academy of Sciences, Systems Research Institute, Warsaw, Poland. He has published numerous articles in these areas. He is also the author of 15 research monographs. His research interests include computational intelligence, fuzzy modeling, knowledge discovery, data mining, and fuzzy control, including fuzzy controllers, pattern recognition, knowledge-based neural networks, granular and relational computing, and software engineering. He has been a member of numerous program committees of IEEE conferences in the area of fuzzy sets and neurocomputing. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Information Sciences (Elsevier), WIREs Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery (Wiley), and the International Journal of Granular Computing (Springer). He served as the Editor-in-Chief for the IEEE Transactions on Systems Man and Cybernetics—Part A and the President of IFSA. He also serves on the Advisory Board for the IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems.

Prof. Xudong Jiang

Biography: Xudong Jiangreceived the B.Eng. and M.Eng. from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), and the Ph.D. degree from Helmut Schmidt University, Hamburg, Germany. From 1986 to 1993, he was a Lecturer with UESTC, where he received two Science and Technology Awards from the Ministry for Electronic Industry of China. From 1998 to 2004, he was with the Institute for Infocomm Research, A-Star, Singapore, as a Lead Scientist and the Head of the Biometrics Laboratory, where he developed a system that achieved the most efficiency and the second most accuracy at the International Fingerprint Verification Competition in 2000. He joined Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, as a Faculty Member, in 2004, and served as the Director of the Centre for Information Security from 2005 to 2011. Currently, he is a professor in NTU. Dr Jiang holds 7 patents and has authored over 150 papers with over 40 papers in the IEEE journals, including 6 papers in IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 11 papers in IEEE Transactions on Image Processing and 17 papers in Pattern RecognitionThree of his papers have been listed as the top 1% highly cited papers in the academic field of Engineering by Essential Science Indicators. He served as IFS TC Member of the IEEE Signal Processing Society from 2015 to 2017, Associate Editor for IEEE Signal Processing Letter from 2014 to 2018, Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Image Processing from 2016 to 2020 and the founding editorial board member for IET Biometrics form 2012 to 2019. Dr Jiang is currently an IEEE Fellow and serves as Senior Area Editor for IEEE Transactions on Image Processing and Editor-in-Chief for IET BiometricsHis current research interests include image processing, pattern recognition, computer vision, machine learning, and biometrics.

 

Prof. Hesheng Wang
Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China

Biography: Hesheng Wang received the Ph.D. degree in Automation & Computer-Aided Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Currently, he is a Professor of Department of Automation, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. He has published more than 200 papers in refereed journals and conferences. He is an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Automation Science Engineering, IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, Assembly Automation and International Journal of Humanoid Robotics, a Technical Editor of IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics. He served as an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Robotics from 2015 to 2019.  He was the general chair of IEEE RCAR2016 and IEEE ROBIO2022, and program chair of IEEE AIM2019 and IEEE ROBIO2014. He was a recipient of Shanghai Rising Star Award in 2014, The National Science Fund for Outstanding Young Scholars in 2017, Shanghai Shuguang Scholar in 2019 and The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2022. He will be the General Chair of IEEE/RSJ IROS2025.

 

Prof. Chun-Yi Su
Concordia University, Canada

Biography: Dr. Chun-Yi Su received his Ph.D. degrees in control engineering from South China University of Technology in 1990. After a seven-year stint at the University of Victoria, he joined the Concordia University in 1998, where he is currently a Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and holds the Concordia Research Chair in Control. His research covers control theory and its applications to various mechanical systems, with a focus on control of systems involving hysteresis nonlinearities. He is the author or co-author of over 500 publications, which have appeared in journals, as book chapters and in conference proceedings. He has been identified as 2019, 2020 and 2021 Highly Cited Researchers from Clarivate.

Dr. Su has served as Associate Editor for several journals, including IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, and several other journals. He is a Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE RA Society. He served for many conferences as an Organizing Committee Member, including the General Chairs and Program Chairs.
